FuelEU Maritime
The greenhouse gas intensity of the energy used, and what it means in operation
FuelEU Maritime does not measure consumption but the greenhouse gas intensity of the energy used: well-to-wake, across the year, across the fleet. The course works through what that means in operation and explains banking, borrowing and pooling for what they are: instruments for steering a balance.

What you can do after the course
These are the learning objectives as defined for the course. The final test measures against them.
You understand the objectives and the geographical scope of the FuelEU Maritime Regulation for ships above 5000 GT.
You calculate and assess the greenhouse gas intensity of marine fuels on a well-to-wake basis, taking CO2 equivalents into account.
You apply the onshore power supply obligations at berth from 2030 correctly and document applicable exemptions in line with the law.
You draw up and maintain a compliant monitoring plan and prepare the annual verification by the accredited verifier.
You use the flexibility mechanisms, banking, borrowing and pooling, to optimise the fleet’s compliance balance.

How the course runs
The course follows a storyline on board and ashore, with the same people as the other sixteen.
Several question formats, pass mark set in the course, retakes possible.
Issued automatically on passing, with date and course version: presentable to class and port state control.
SCORM export for an existing LMS on board; otherwise browser access, on request without a personal e-mail address.
Explainer film
Two minutes, the same three people.
The film shows how a rule becomes a course, and how an inspection goes for someone who prepared for it.
See this course during the trial
Fourteen days, all seventeen courses in full, no payment details. Which of them apply to your fleet, and who receives them, is what the fit conversation settles.
