Classification, survey and certificates
What a recognised organisation may do, what it certifies and what the flag state answers for
A recognised organisation surveys on behalf of the flag state. It certifies a great deal but does not answer for everything. The course separates what class may do, what it certifies and what the flag state ultimately stands for, including the deadlines when changing class.

You apply the requirements for a legally sound change of class and the deadlines that go with it.
You identify potential conflicts of interest and the limits of independence in survey work.
You implement the Commission’s right of access and the protection of intellectual property, contractually and in practice.

How the course runs
The course follows a storyline on board and ashore, with the same people as the other sixteen.
Several question formats, pass mark set in the course, retakes possible.
Issued automatically on passing, with date and course version: presentable to class and port state control.
SCORM export for an existing LMS on board; otherwise browser access, on request without a personal e-mail address.
Explainer film
Two minutes, the same three people.
The film shows how a rule becomes a course, and how an inspection goes for someone who prepared for it.
