The Markkinaoikeus (Market Court, Finland) imposed a penalty payment of 600,000 EUR on the dairy company Valio Oy for breaching the key condition attached to the 2021 clearance of its acquisition of the wholesaler Heinon Tukku: staff responsible for pricing and profitability of Valio products had access to competitors' sensitive purchase prices for about a year. The authority had sought 900,000 EUR; the Korkein hallinto-oikeus (Supreme Administrative Court) dismissed its appeal on 16 January 2026.
