31 Dec 2024 Grubhub Inc. und Grubhub Holdings Inc.FTC and Illinois: Grubhub pays 25 million USD over hidden delivery fees €24.1m
The FTC and the Illinois Attorney General alleged that the delivery service misled customers about delivery costs and blocked their accounts and balances, promised drivers inflated earnings and listed restaurants without their consent. The court order sets a judgment of 140 million USD, suspended except for a payment of 24.8 million USD to the FTC; in addition, 200,000 USD goes to Illinois (25 million USD in total). The authority allegedly made the findings set out here; this account is not based on a final judgment.
