The Minnesota provider of outpatient addiction treatment pays USD 18,500,000 to resolve False Claims Act allegations and entered into a five-year Corporate Integrity Agreement with HHS-OIG. According to the US Attorney's Office, from January 2019 to February 2025 NUWAY compensated Medicaid patients for attending intensive outpatient treatment and also billed services in which the same period of time was counted twice. The authority allegedly made the findings set out here; this account is not based on a final judgment.
