The energy regulator punished 25 offences by Gold Energy with a combined fine of 180,000 EUR, halved to 90,000 EUR in the settlement procedure. They included 15 supplier switches without explicit consent, missing information on the social tariff in contracts, incomplete and miscalculated invoices, an unlawful disconnection, price increases without 30 days' notice and false information given to consumers as an unfair commercial practice.
Sales targets must never lead to customers being switched without verifiable consent or being misinformed.
