During an unannounced inspection by the Konkurences padome (Latvian Competition Council) on 6 November 2024 in a suspected cartel case, the company partly refused to provide information, and an internet block set up on a computer was not lifted in time. The authority penalised both as procedural infringements with 18,519.86 EUR and 27,779.80 EUR, totalling 46,299.66 EUR, even though it closed the underlying cartel case for lack of evidence.
Companies should have clear dawn-raid rules so that explanations are given and IT access is released to investigators immediately.
